Masdiag Receives EU Funding for Innovative Dementia Risk Diagnostic

Masdiag secures PLN 3,028,154 in European Funds under the Smart Economy Programme for 'A Drop for Memory' — an innovative DBS-based test to assess dementia risk.

European Funding Secured

Masdiag is launching the project “A Drop for Memory — an innovative diagnostic test to assess the risk of dementia.” We are proud to announce that this project has received funding under Priority I of the European Funds for a Smart Economy Programme 2021–2027.

Contract No.: FENG.01.01-IP.02-3883/23
Funding: PLN 3,028,154.30

Project Scope

The project focuses on utilising an innovative method of collecting a drop of blood on a special material that enables the separation of blood into red blood cells and plasma fractions. This will allow for even more efficient use of the collected sample — a major breakthrough in laboratory diagnostics using self-collected blood samples.

As part of the project, Masdiag will optimise methods for analysing three key biomarkers to ensure compatibility with this new collection material:

These tests are already available as part of our dried blood spot (DBS) diagnostics portfolio.

Impact

We extend our gratitude to everyone supporting our mission to introduce modern diagnostic methods. This is a significant step toward precision medicine and the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases.
